Orange Hill Art presents the work of William Fields and highlights 27 large-scale drawings by the artist. Represented by the prestigious Luise Ross Gallery in New York, Fields is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Winston-Salem, NC. Among many others, Fields's work was recently included in an exhibition by the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, and in Visual Glossolalia at Luise Ross Gallery, which had the honor of receiving a New York Times review in July 2005. Fields's 2003 solo exhibition at Luise Ross Gallery was reviewed by Art in America.

Viewing his art as spiritual experience and expression, Fields explains that his work is the culmination of forty years of effort and meditation. Entering a "trance state," the artist channels spiritual forces to create visually compelling drawings in pastel and Prismacolor, which utilize complex lines and forms that sometimes appear figural, shatter into fragments, and converge into new shapes. He draws inspiration from his meditation practice, as well as from the texts of Buddhism, Hermetic Science, Gnostic Christianity and Shiva Tantra.
